Ana previously served as a caregiver for older adults alongside other family members. She carries her memories of that time into her current role, as many mesothelioma patients are elderly.
Through her work as a patient advocate, Ana has developed a wealth of knowledge about mesothelioma and can answer questions that veterans and their loved ones may have regarding this rare form of cancer. This includes information about asbestos and what to expect after a cancer diagnosis.
Ana is also fluent in Spanish and served as an interpreter before joining the staff at the Mesothelioma Veterans Center.
Born in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, Ana moved to Portland, Oregon, as a child. Today, Ana still lives in Portland. She enjoys painting, exploring the outdoors, crocheting, embroidering, and relaxing with a cup of tea.
