The resources below are tailor-made for veterans, helping to lighten their load and understand their options after being diagnosed with mesothelioma.

Co-moderated by Major Nelson, a registered nurse and social worker, this group offers a way to meet those who are in your shoes and get practical advice for the road ahead.

Even for veterans and families with maximum VA financial benefits, mesothelioma can still be incredibly expensive to treat. It’s common for families to face over $400,000 yearly in costs that they never expected.
The Mesothelioma Veterans Center helps U.S. veterans facing mesothelioma recover compensation worth over $1 million on average to afford these expenses, protect families, and get peace of mind moving forward.
Our skilled mesothelioma attorneys, many of whom are fellow U.S. veterans, can help veterans recover the money they deserve without impacting VA benefits.

At the Mesothelioma Veterans Center, we strive to support U.S. veterans and families as they go through one of the hardest experiences imaginable, which is a cancer diagnosis.
U.S. veterans didn’t give up, and neither do we. That’s why we’re here to serve proud veterans who developed mesothelioma, a cancer that they never deserved.
We assist veterans through all aspects of a diagnosis, including proving how they were exposed to asbestos, accessing VA benefits, getting legal payouts, and receiving medical support.
The only known cause of mesothelioma is asbestos, and many U.S. veterans were exposed to asbestos-containing products like insulation on military bases and ships.
However, since mesothelioma takes 10-50 years to form following exposure to asbestos, U.S. veterans and their families may not remember how they were exposed.
We’re able to prove your exposure by:
We’re then able to collect documents to prove your asbestos exposure, which is crucial to recovering VA benefits and legal compensation.
Most mesothelioma patients are diagnosed around the age of 70 because the cancer forms decades after exposure. Many U.S. veterans are already receiving VA benefits at the time of a mesothelioma diagnosis, but at a lower rate.
The VA considers mesothelioma to be a 100% VA disability, so you could be missing out on monthly payouts and lower health care premiums. Major Nelson can help adjust your VA rating so you’ll reach the 100% rate.
We can boost your disability ratings by:
We also may be able to fast-track your mesothelioma VA benefits claim, allowing you to increase your disability rating with less of a wait.
Even with VA benefits and insurance in place, your family could still face significant expenses following a mesothelioma diagnosis.
Working with our experienced legal partners can allow you to retrieve mesothelioma compensation, often worth $1 million or more, through legal settlements and verdicts.
Notable payouts we’ve recovered include:
Many other U.S. veterans have started to get payouts in 90 days or less, while still receiving VA benefits, with help from our team.
Mesothelioma is rare, requires specialized treatments, and is often aggressive. These factors can make managing the cancer very stressful for veterans and their families.
Our registered nurses and support staff are here to provide answers to your health care questions, so you can receive the treatments that you deserve.
