Jonathan N. Nelson is a retired U.S. Marine Corps Major, VA-accredited attorney, and a legal advisor at the Mesothelioma Veterans Center. The U.S. military has played a central role in Major Nelson’s life. He comes from a family of military veterans, with his father, uncles, brother, and sister-in-law all serving. When he was a toddler, his family moved to Triangle, Virginia, near U.S. Marine Corps Base Quantico.
After attending the Wake Forest University School of Law, Major Nelson became an attorney for the U.S. Marine Corps, serving for 15 years.
He was deployed to Iraq and Kuwait during the Global War on Terrorism. He later taught at the Naval Justice School in Rhode Island and served as the Staff Judge Advocate for the Second Marine Division.
